VILLA CRUZ

The distance between reality and the other worlds we exist in feels faint and untrue, only the tarmac against your worn soles can chase you now. A chance to follow our shadows, to know where they dissolve. Take what you want /take what you will.  

Villa Cruz is a form of evasion, false emotional compensation, and illusory well-being. A place where your thoughts roll by every night, you feel you want things you can't really want. Everything has a solution, if you learn how. These works are the consequence of staring directly into a mirage. Romanticising my own repressions, my practice and thought stream moves between collecting things and images with some sense of significance and distorting them, creating false memories or 'scenes', dreaming outside of myself. Using printmaking, drawing, writing and assemblage in the 'wrong way', everything is merged into each other until reality becomes distant. Much like a coping mechanism, I hope to be free of them, I hope to find yours.
